Press Previews Worth the Hump Across Town

If you are going to invite, followup, re-followup and bug maxxed out editors, freelancers, bloggers and buds to attend your press preview event, we like to think that you better make it worth the hump across town much less across the street. Make it easy, make it fun, make it worth the trouble — especially if you are rolling out a single product or line. That’s what we did with Dr. Susan Taylor’s new acne control addition to her fantastic Rx For Brown Skin skin care line. Get a cozy, intimate suite at the Bryant Park Hotel overlooking the park and have a seasoned and talented dermatologist like Dr. Taylor to do a brilliant job of running everyone through the details. Inevitably, these intimate sit-down conversations unearth some excellent new facts and ideas worth writing about.

 

 

LPPR likes to group complimentary fashion brands for preview events like our Canadian brands Brave Leather, Fidelity denimGentle Fawn and Left on Houston.  We hosted a casual and fun out door event staged in the garden at the sunset Marquis for this one — central, gorgeous and a great getaway for all.  With complimentary brands displaying Fall 2011 lines of leather accessories, beautifully fitted denim and gorgeous tops and knits, the leisurely garden setting allowed for great one-on-one conversations.  Fittings by the designers themselves and a spread of tasty noshables made the hump well worth the while for our friends in the press and a few celeb buds. Give them a reason to come and they will come — especially if they walk away with a bag full of fresh story ideas.

There are people who you love and then there are people who you really love.  Steven Ho is one of those.  Besides being the greatest guy and one of the top martial arts experts in Hollywood training the biggest and baddest for big action roles (that Steven sometimes choreographs), he is also a pretty funny guy going head-to-head with brawlers like Conan O’Brien. Conan’s audiences loooove Steven’s training segments with Conan. Steven also happens to be a great friend of LPPR and a lover of all things Fila. He’s one of our avid Fila brand ambassadors, and having friends like Steven is part of what makes PR enjoyable. His crew is always decked in the lastest Fila gear like Skele-Toes minimalist shoes and distinctively Fila workout gear. Perfect for beating Conan’s ass — or trying to.

Establishing relationships with the soon-to-break talent in Hollywood is critical to keeping clients in front of the cameras and in the news. LPPR bud Leven Rambin is a great example and a gas when she shows up. Leven just landed the lead in Curtis Hanson’s new effort Mavericks. Ava wears Fila Skele-Toes 2.0, Lyric culture, gadogado, and Gentle Fawn.

LPPR’s Lee Everett comes out from behind the curtain to help out a client in need. High quality images and all types of content can be critical for rapid response when media comes a knockin’. In this case, Lee wears Fila’s fall BTS collection for the camera’s at EXTRA. Being able to give them what they need when they need it is half the battle. Lee often appears on camera in lieu of clients for the likes of EXTRA, The Doctors, and LA local shows like Good Day LA.
